Reading Together has “lived” in the United States, Europe and now finds herself in Mexico. My “musings”/ blog now comes from the many experiences I have been fortunate to engage with since 2020. My intent continues to be promoting reading for pleasure, which means reading with deep comprehension. No longer be content to love reading and then find yourself frustrated with having little recall and retention. Reading is a powerful skill for how else can you gain access to the wisdom of the smartest people who have even lived? Readers see the world from the viewpoint of someone else, protecting you from the mistakes and untruths of others as well as your own ignorance. A little boy in Kindergarten asked his teacher if he could teach him to fly. The teacher responded—Oh yes! In school you will learn to read which will transport you wherever want to go, even into the future or back to the past time. Become the life long reader you deserve to become.
